A wide variety of children and adults with Special Needs can be helped with Equine Assisted Activities and Therapy (EAAT).  Riders with Physical Special Needs often show improvement in flexibility, balance, muscle strength and speech because horseback riding gently and rhythmically moves the rider’s body in a manner similar to a human gait, engaging core muscles. For people with Mental or Emotional Special Needs, the unique relationship formed with the horse can lead to increased confidence, patience, self-esteem and improved social skills. Learning can take place all while enjoying recreational riding.
